The Pennsylvania STEM Initiative was initially funded by a grant from the National Governor's Association and a matching grant from the Team Pennsylvania Foundation.  The initial $1 Million was allocated to fund the initiative through the 2-year grant cycle.  The original grant investment funded the development of short-term and long-term goals, the development of five regional networks, a supply-demand gap analysis, a state-wide asset map and a statewide communications program including this new website and online resource directory.

Once the original funding is exhausted, Pennsylvania's STEM Initiative will be sustained by investment and sponsorships from partners around the Commonwealth.  Contributions can be made in a number of ways:

- Direct Investment in the Statewide Initiative
- Investment in Regional Networks
- Sponsorship of Key Programs/Events

The following sponsors and investors have come forward to support the statewide network through assistance with regional development across the Commonwealth:

Wall Street West - Invested $250,000 in the Northeast Pennsylvania STEM Network

Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Universities - Invested $10,000 in each PA STEM Region

National Girls Collaborative Project - Granted $24,000 to Pennsylvania to be distributed in $1,000 mini-grants for regional programs.
