The Pennsylvania Inspired Leadership (PIL) Program is a statewide, standards-based continuing professional education program for school and system leaders. The comprehensive, cohort-based program is focused on developing the capacity of leaders to improve student achievement. The program is offered by the Department of Education in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Intermediate Units and other partners at eight regional sites. Each of the eight sites is administered by a full-time PIL Regional Site Coordinator and supported by a Regional Advisory Committee.
The initiative is separated into two components: Grow and Support.
Grow is a volunteer professional development program for admonistrators with less than three years experience. The program provides them with the leadership knowledge, understanding, and skills that they will need in order to improve performance and achievement to their building or district.
Support is a program for administrators who have completed the Grow track and are now giving back to their peers through LEAD sessions or the Principal's Induction Program.
